Fourteen young editors, mentored by children’s author Rebecca Lim and publishing industry professionals, have put together a collection of adventure-themed stories unlike anything you’ve ever seen. The collection includes 15 intrepid tales and poems written by young Australian writers between the ages of 8 and 12, alongside a contribution from one of Australia’s best-known authors, Sally Morgan.

Unboring Exploring is the ninth book published through 100 Story Building’s Early Harvest youth publishing program. In this program, a panel of young editors, aged 11 and 12, are assembled every year to select the book’s theme, commission the artwork, curate the collection and make all the creative decisions involved in putting the book together, making it AUSTRALIA’s ONLY publication edited and written by kids for kids.

This year, 100 Story Building mentored young writers across five schools in Melbourne on the intricacies of good writing. More than 125 young authors submitted stories for consideration. From these, the young editors have selected the 15 best works to showcase alongside captivating illustrations by local artists.
