Young people to shape the future of Victoria

A new partnership between Victorian Government’s Department of Transport and Planning and 100 Story Building, will ensure young voices are a part of important conversations around the future of our housing, environment, communities, and jobs.

At 100 Story Building, we believe in the power of young voices and big ideas. That’s why we’re teaming up with the Victoria's Department of Transport and Planning to ensure the voices of young people and children are a part of important conversations around housing, environment, communities, and jobs.

Engage Victoria is re-imaging the future of our cities, suburbs, towns and regions, and invites young people to be a part of shaping the Victoria we all want to be living in in 2050.

Throughout May and June, 100 Story Building’s storytellers and facilitators will be visiting schools across Victoria to run free, creative 60-minute workshops. During these interactive sessions, students are invited to draw on their own experiences in order to share their perspectives and ideas for Victoria's future. Using storytelling techniques to unleash their curiosity, we'll guide students in year levels 3-9 through an immersive workshop where they create the story of a future Victoria. The workshop also supports curriculum areas across English, Critical and Creative Thinking, and Civics and Citizenship.

100 Story Building can come to your school or we welcome you to our newly opened creative hub in Footscray.

Your school can nominate any single class in years 3-9 to participate, or bring together a group of approximately 25-30 students who are keen to take part.

We’ll send through resources beforehand to help warm your students up to the themes we will be exploring together.

Please note places are limited. To ensure diverse perspectives from across our state, we're prioritising EOIs from schools in rural and regional Victorian and high school communities, though all are welcome to join us as space allows.

100 Story Building will contact you to confirm the outcomes of your EOI within the next few weeks.

To apply, please fill out the EOI form here.

For inquires about the project, please contact our Project Manager, Jenny Tran, at jenny@100storybuilding.org.au.
