Meet the new facilitators!

We realised the other day that it’s been a while since we did an audit of the levels beneath the trapdoor of our very tall (or very deep?) building. So, we went down to Reception on Level 99 the other day to check that everything was tickety-boo, and we found four new staff members sitting in the waiting room!

Understandably, they were a little confused as to why they had been left alone with Kumberfink (our friendly stingray-clown receptionist) for so long, but now that we’ve found them we are thrilled to welcome them to our office on Level 100.

As is customary at 100 Story Building, we sat them all down to do some serious getting-to-know-you-ing...

Nabilah (Workshop Facilitator)

My name is Nabilah (nah - BEE - lah) and my ancestors are bees - but don’t worry, I don’t sting, so you’re safe around me. Unlike bees, I love eggs and the more eggs I eat the more I become one. So I guess I might eventually become some sort of egg-bee hybrid? What would you call that? A beegg?

I have learned in my previous endeavours that anything can be built together - and yes, that does include a jumbo trampoline and biscuit slides. I’m planning an installation down on Level 43.

I’m especially looking forward to visiting the Bin Room in 100 Story Building - it’s one level above the Invisible Level and the great thing about it is that you can throw anything you like in there and it gets melted down inside hot lava holes. I'd like to see if a washing machine would melt in there.

Maylei (Workshop Facilitator)

I’m Maylei, and I’ve been told that my first Perilous Quests in this job might involve a showdown with a terrifying, hangry alien fish, so I now carry a bag of snacks in my backpack at all times.

I may even make the snacks myself, because if you knew me really really well, you would know that I like to cook and I am not, in fact, bad at it. Having said that, perhaps I could just swing by Level 88 - the World of Jelly - it’s the perfect wobbly snack, and I love jelly; I reckon the alien-fish would like it too.

Then again, maybe I could lull the alien fish to sleep with a good story - no matter where you are in the world, whether a child in the desert or in the city, everyone likes to hear a story - and even better, to be part of a story.

Megan (Workshop Facilitator)

My name is Meg - like an egg with a me. Me+egg. Meg. Between you and me, I have already explored the Invisible level and I often hang out there… Or do I? If you knew me really, really well you would know I have performed freestyle raps about sleeping goats in Italy to sleeping goats in Italy. I am trying to get us to install an Italian rapping goat level, but it’s a bit hard to get them to come from overseas at the moment. It’s probably best that we’re not installing a new level at the moment, because I’ve heard that there is a hangry alien fish on the loose…? When I next go down the trapdoor, I am planning to bring an underwater saxophone that plays relaxing dinner music whilst blowing out pieces of alien-friendly chocolate algae.

Toby.jpg

Toby (Program Coordinator)

My name is Toby (and no, it’s not short for Tobias) and I can’t wait to visit Level 9. Now, I know what you're thinking and yes, there are a lot of creatures working on that floor that eat people. But everyone we employ, be they human or otherwise, is a professional. They're not going to eat me - I promise.

Now, I have heard that Maylei maybe be having some trouble with a terrifying, hangry alien fish. Now, I really don't like fish, but I do like aliens, so I'm torn on how to react. I don't know what they eat, and I don't want to guess in case they're allergic (plus, I heard Maylei has already packed some homemade jelly snacks) so I am prepared to help her by pulling out some fireworks from my backpack and use them to distract the alien fish while we slip past it.

When I was younger, I wanted to be a vampire when I grew up. Unfortunately, no career openings have come about in that profession...yet. This job is as close as I have been able to get - at least I can go hang out with the Draculas on Level 27 whenever I feel like it.
