An Evening of Storytelling

Next week the Prep-Grade 1 students of Dinjerra Primary School and their families will gather for Braybrook's answer to Cannes: the In Other Words premiere.

In a series of workshops over the past few weeks, students made puppets with Leighton Young, created a King Midas Kamishibai story with Bernard Caleo and acted out the story of the Milk Bird with Tariro Mavondo. Using these different storytelling techniques, the students wrote, produced and performed their own original stories. Assisted by Nadia Camus from Archer Avenue Productions, the students recorded each other, and these short films will be shown to family and friends at next week's premiere.

With a red carpet, popcorn machine and a room full of young stars, we're not sure how we'll keep the paparazzi at bay.
