KATE MOON: Light & Colour: making portraits with feeling

  • 100 Story Building 92 Nicholson Street Footscray, VIC, 3011 Australia (map)

Level up your drawing as you explore two key elements of a successful portrait!

In this masterclass, we ask that you bring whatever drawing materials you are most comfortable using: watercolours, a digital tablet, textas, oil paint, charcoal, crayons or good ol’ gray lead pencils. Get ready to unpack how you can use light and colour to conjure up different moods and bring your portraits to life!

Kate Moon is best known as one half of the illustration team that brought Adam Briggs’s ‘Our Home, Our Heartbeat’ to life as an award-winning children’s book. She has worked as a character artist for high profile projects like Sony’s “Spongebob: Sponge Out Of Water” and ABC’s “Figaro Pho”. Kate works across different illustration areas: animation, children’s book covers, editorial illustration and various comic projects. In her spare time she paints and creates artworks for her own enjoyment.

Kate created the fiery cover illustration for 2020’s Early Harvest collection, Unboring Exploring.
