As a part of Due West Festival (Aug 10-27), we plan to sneak bright-eyed stories into your mornings via coffees and cakes.Through our Story Cups & Bites project, seven local cafes and one bookstore have joined us to amplify the creative voices of the young writers at 100 Story Building. For the duration of the festival, the cafes will be adding their stories into your order via coffee cups, zines and photo frames.First up are coffee cups. Be sure to scan your coffee cup to get your daily dose of flash fiction by kids. Or pick up your FREE copy of Shoes of Doom, a zine featuring fun tales such as French Flies, Dangerous Cat in a Beanie and Get that Butterfly, It’s a Criminal by young writers aged 5 to 16 in collaboration with artist Cam Baker. Also on display are framed stories illustrated by local artists including Seb Fowler, Gini Merange, Cam Baker, Peader Thomas, Jess Wilson, Tam Bower and Amy Devereux.So swing by Maples, Rudimentary, Milking Station, Happy River, Common Galaxia, Sun Bookshop, Alfa Bakehouse and Hey Zeus between Aug 10 and 27 and add some mystery, magic and chuckles to your day. Each cafe will have a unique offering of stories on the menu!Story Cups & Bites is a part of Due West, Immersive Arts Festival 10-27 August, celebrating arts in the west.
