Meet the Young Editors: Greta
Early Harvest's first ever mentor, grade 9 student Darvey, sat down with Greta, one of our eager young editors for 2014, to chat about reading, writing and—of course—The Fault in Our Stars.
Darvey: When did you get into reading?
Greta: Aaaages ago.
D: What inspired you to write?
G: The thought of reading books from different authors inspires me to write.
D: What was the last book you read?
G: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
D: Who is your favourite author?
G: John Green.
D: Did you see the movie? I cried. AAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH.
G: I know, I know, I know. (A lot of emotional outpouring from everyone, including the scribe.)
Scribe: Okay guys, come on.
D: Okay, okay, okay, fiiiiiiiine. Where is the place you would most like to read a book, if you could read a book anywhere in the world?
G: I really like reading books in the rainforest. When I was a little girl I went out to the rainforest and went camping and was reading next to a river.
D: Oh my gosh, so nice. Okay but this is a very important question. Who is your favourite Harry Potter character?
G: Oh god. I have to say… this is really hard. Hermione. Maybe. Ginny Weasley. Maybe Ron. I have to say Ron.
D: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (pause, recovery) If you could choose a character to be your best friend, who would it be?
G: Hazel Grace from The Fault in Our Stars.
D: And what is your favourite quote or line from a book or movie? And don’t say-
G: ‘Maybe okay should be our always.’ (from The Fault in Our Stars) I have to!
