Major redevelopment at 100 Story Building

Everyone at 100 Story Building is thrilled to announce that we are a recipient of a West Gate Neighbourhood Fund Partnerships project to redevelop a new space.

In the coming months, our building (and the 99 floors below the trapdoor) will receive a complete redevelopment thanks to the support of the West Gate Neighborhood Fund. This grant will help us transform our headquarters into a custom-built centre for program design and delivery. It will massively increase our capacity, allowing us to reach more children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in Melbourne’s west and further afield. We could not be more excited about this new opportunity, and look forward to consulting with young storytellers in Melbourne as part of the space design process.

For anyone not acquainted with our much-loved 100 Story Building, you can take a lightning-quick tour here:

For eight years, 100 Story Building has been key to the development of friendships, support networks, social skills and wellbeing for those who access our space. It has been the home of after-school programs, hosted thousands of school and holiday workshops, and supported hundreds of schools and families through programs that increase creative confidence, sense of belonging, and literacy skills in children and young people.

Stay tuned for more about our plans. We are off to let the animals, characters, monsters, aliens, otherworldly creatures and carnivorous plants on the 99 levels below our workshop space know about the renovations - it’s always best to keep your neighbours informed about these things. Wish us luck!
