Inspiration from Denmark!
Our good friend Karen Siercke, a fellow 826 Valencia intern and all round explosion of talent, has been busy coordinating her own student literacy book project back home in Denmark.Ordskælv! (Which translates as 'Wordquake!', the Danish for earthquake being 'jordskælv' - you have to love puns in other languages!) is a program that involved teenagers from Norrebro, a district in Copenhagen, writing about their local area and experiences. The resulting book, which looks fantastic, has us wishing we could read Danish! But even with the language barrier, the photos on the Ordskælv! website make it clear how much effort went into this project, and how thoroughly engaged the young authors are.
