Case Study: Bayside City Council

100 Story Building was engaged by Bayside Council to explore the questions: what is it like to be a child or young person living in Bayside, and how can we make it better?

100 Story Building worked with 42 grade three students at two local schools to workshop and share the ideas of children living in Bayside.

Drawing on our long experience in creating programs that authentically amplify youth voices, 100 Story Building designed and delivered a creative workshop series focused on the following:

  • Connection

  • Safety

  • Health and Wellbeing

The workshops followed a learning framework, emphasising opportunities for participants to both learn about local government and be heard by local government. The workshops encouraged students to think both about their common experiences as young people, as well as imaginatively explore what was important to them about living in Bayside, and why.
